Roger Caras said "Dogs are not our whole life but they make our lives whole." He was wrong. When you live with four, obedience train two, agility train two and co-own a dog boutique:(GollyGear); dogs are your life. And life is good.

Help those in need
Last night was another training night here at Golly Gear and Dogs in the Ring for the C.A.R.E. volunteers at the Evanston Shelter. We're happy to postpone dinner for a couple of hours to keep the Ring open for them. The Shelter dogs had a nice meal waiting for them (aside from the treats they earned during training!) But I can't help but think about the pups wandering the broken streets and alleys of earthquake-devastated Haiti. It's been over two weeks since the horrible earthquake there and the need continues - for people and animals. Here are some great organizations that help: American Red Cross Association for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals National Search Dog Foundation World Society for the Protection of Animals
Hope and Fran are sisters and owners of GollyGear - a shop specializing in fun, affordable, and practical products especially for small dogs.
We believe that dogs are wonderful companions and their presence enriches our lives. We also know how difficult it can be to find appropriate "gear" for our small dogs, which is why we founded Golly Gear. We make it a point to discover the best products for small dogs and share them with other, devoted dog lovers.
Fran has two dogs: Tango, a 4-year-old Brussels Griffon who got off to a bit of a rough start, but is rapidly becoming an amazingly wonderful companion, and Booker, a Boston Terrier puppy born in November of 2012. Hope has Dax, an eight-year old French Bulldog with Novice Agility and Novice Agility Jumper titles; Teddy a 3-year-old fawn Frenchie with attitude and Open Standard and Jumpers titles; and Roc, an 11-year-old Brussels Griffon, who decided to retire with Novice titles in Obedience and Rally and now proudly practices his couch-potato prowess.
Golly Gear is named for Fran's Brussels Griffon, Golly - who was a discriminating judge of all things dog throughout her life.
